Public Indecency

I had a doctor appointment this afternoon.  I was really nervous because for some reason I was seeing someone else in the practice. Did my PA leave? Did she dump me on someone else?

I'm not good with this kind of change... and would have cancelled if it weren't for the fact that I have to have this little cocktail of pharmaceuticals on a daily basis.

The good news is that my PA didn't leave and didn't dump me, the scheduler had apparently made a bunch of errors and all the patients were mixed up. The (semi-) bad news is that my PA asked if I would be okay seeing the other PA today and they would get it all fixed for the next appointment.... "She's really nice, I promise!"

I know this probably does not seem like a big deal, but it is.  You don't just jumble-up a bunch of "crazy people" from what they are used too. And apparently it's been a week long ordeal.

So fine,  I'll put on my big-girl-panties and see the "really nice" PA.

To help manage my stress I decided to block out the other 16 people in the waiting room and watch Star Trek.  What I didn't plan for was my Pavlovian response to Star Trek. This is the movie I put on to relax and fall asleep to... WHICH I DID!

(a reenactment photo)

I woke up 45 minutes later... to a waiting room with only two other people... and they were both looking. at. me.

I wiped the drool off of my face. Gave a shaky little smile.  Two little smirks were returned. I am pretty sure that more than one of the following things happened during my nap:

drool (yup)
whimpering (probably)
sleep babble (...)
gas (oh God, please no)

I image how my handsome boy looks when he's napping.  Stomach growls, heavy breathing, phantom cat chasing, and gas.  It's the gas that I fear.

But you can't say "Please excuse me if I gassed while randomly sleeping in the waiting room."

If I DID gas... I hope it was a HUGE, LOUD, OBNOXIOUS one... because that will give them a better story to tell their friends. Tehe.

What if...

... all these birds pooped at the same time?
And people carried umbrellas in case of a poo storm?

What if I'm actually a character in a modernized "The Birds" movie?
And Hitchcock is alive?

What if I could balance on a wire?
And watch all the people below in their daily migratory patterns?

Honk if you love your pet!

We stopped to get gas on the way to school today.  I hate getting gas... hubby laughs because he swears every time he gets in my car it's on empty.  It's true. I've run out of gas a few times... awkward.  What's the big deal? No big deal, it's just... boring. Like cleaning the toilet but less satisfying.  I never stand back and proudly say "now THAT's a full tank"... but I could see myself admiring a clean toilet.

Anyway, today we had to stop for gas. Pop the gas door, boring. Twist the cap, boring. Insert my card, boring. Select unleaded, boring. Tangle with the hose, boring.

While it's doing it's thing I might as well wash my windshield... "beep beep"... "beep"...

I will not dignify that honking maniac with a glance.  I just got here, not even four dollars in the tank yet.

"beep beep"... take a chill pill!

"beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..."

What the ha-shiz-al!  I finally look... and see the-cutest-dog-ever* leaning up on the horn to see over the steering wheel.

"...eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep"

I so wish I'd had my camera.

A young man, about 20, ambles out of the 7-11 and walks towards the car... "beep beep beep"... he taps on the window and the dog gets off of the horn, wagging his tail with all the love in the world.

The girlies and I had a huge giggle over this.

Animals bring joy to our lives...

... yes, I did make her pose with the mini bear.

Kitty goes back to the vet on Saturday, still praying that everything is a-okay.  She's been taking her medicine so well.  Two "beeps" for her!

*OBVIOUSLY not counting my handsome boy.

I'm Exhausting...

Not exhausted... but exhausting.  I even exhaust myself.  I don't know how my hubby and girlies can handle me.  Don't get me wrong, I'm also HI-ghly entertaining... but like a wound-up-monkey I'm better in little doses.

Today Caitlin was late to school again.  Like, really late.  15 minutes.  "Run as fast as your little feet can carry you" would not help this situation. This was a "Mommy, school just started and you are still in bed" kinda day.

After that announcement I was able to get to the car in my pajamas and sleep-hair-coiffure to do the drop offs.  Back to the house for a shower and I was off to work.

Everything seemed to get back on track once I got to work... Until I realized that every time I took a step my leggings slipped a little, pulling my panties down with them.

Ya know how old men hoist their trousers up? Well, that's what I was doing all day long... except I was wearing a dress. And I had to do a little jiggle because it was TWO layers of clothing that I had to repeatedly hoist up.

At one point in the afternoon I just thought f*ck it, how far can they fall... I will never-ever-ever test that theory again.  Because once they fall past the point of the "hip bone connected to the thigh bone" there is no going back.  It's a duck walk to the ladies room to fix that shiz.

HI-larious, right?

THEN I was walking down the hall and called into an office for a real quick question. Seriously, this could have been a 3 word answer.... but I kept those two poor men trapped in an office for a good FIVE minutes.  It probably seemed longer to them.

I've done a reenactment for your viewing pleasure...

Totally not kidding, That's how it went down.
I do enjoy my attempt at a green screen here and it's complete failure...
it adds a little something.

Before I left today Keith suggested that I have the girlies dump freezing ball bearings on me to get me up in the morning... and I'm willing to try anything.  But we don't have ball bearings (yet) so Siobain is going to dump these frozen glass beads on me instead.

I'll let you  know how it works out :)

Pixlr-o-matic

Another day lounging at home.  My allergies are on attack today, bringing with it a migraine and a few sneeze attacks that are unexpected, strong, and disgusting... i'm just saying... the bonus is grossing out my girlies :)

Hubby was a rockstar today and got everything ready for school tomorrow.  He went to (a) work then (b) cleaned, (c) practiced guitar, (d) worked on script, (e) went to grocery store, and (f) fed the girlies. I... took a nap. Oh, I did read a little of a book too. But it wasn't even a learn'n book... is was High Five by Janet Evanovich... I love her "high-octane thriller, bounty hunter Stephanie Plum!" If hubby had read something today it probably would have something intellectual. Sigh, he wins.

I did manage to wake up from my nap in time to get some pictures of the girlies...

Caitlin in a box.
When I walked into the living room Caitlin was standing in this box watching Fantastic 4. (Oh yeah, I did a load of laundry too!) Anyway, she's standing in this box.  She doesn't know why, just "I fit in it"... the life of an eight-year-old.* It's a build-a-bear box if that gives you any reference to the size.

Siobain and her love, iPod Touch.
This is seriously the way Siobain has looked since Christmas morning. I'm worried her neck will get stuck in that position...

Okay, we need to address my new addiction to google's pixlr-o-matic.  I don't know what's going on with me.  I'm a total "natural photo" kinda girl.  Use it the way you shot it.  But I've been playing a little the last few days.  This star flair filter thing seems to fit this photo perfectly... because I think there must be something magical about this iPod...

*A small note about my littlest girlie.  She is eight.  I've been reporting her as nine... which makes me sound like a complete dumb ass.  She corrected me again last night. I don't know why I keep making her older than she is, if anything I'd like to report that she is a brilliant six-year-old and keep her younger longer.

Nourish

On this first day of the new year...

I usually find the first day of the year to be "high pressure"... I always want to start the year off right... and usually end up in my pajamas for most of it.

Today was no exception.  Except, (see what I've done here)... EXCEPT I didn't let myself worry or stress about it. It's okay for me to chillax.  To laugh with a friend about a rat. To get excited that He Said She Said is on Netflix instant stream and watch it immediately.
---
When hubby got home from work he needed to take a nap.  He was a "bit" irritated that the Cowboys' game was changed to a late start... this may not affect most fans but he has to get up at 3:00am.  His time has to be planned. (I hope they win. He gets really irate if he stays up late on a work night and they LOSE.)

Caitlin and I were evil though... we got on either side of him and looked at him like this as he was trying to go to sleep:

Totally creepy right?  He kept opening his eyes and we would just be sitting there, staring, with our eyes as wide open as possible.  Not touching or talking to him... until we couldn't stop giggling.
---
A friend of mine has an excellent blog, Dreaming In Scraps, and recently wrote a post about "one little word." Living a word instead of a list of resolutions for 2012.  I like the idea.  Love it actually.  I've been thinking about my "one little word" for a couple of days now.  I was having commitment issues.  Soooo many words to choose from :)

I've settled on "nourish"... I would like to make 2012 my year of nourishment.  My faith, my family, my friends, and myself.

Abandoned - Photo: 52 - ABCs

Amy suggested I participate in the Photo: 52 - ABCs project on facebook.  One photo a week with the assigned letter posted to their wall.  Sounds fun and will get me to take more creative photos? Maybe?

Here is my first weeks effort...

A is for Abandoned

my children have grown
backyard swing set abandoned
my monkeys no more

Yup, we'll need to take this set down.  Safety hazard.  But not to worry, my girlies still monkey around when we go to the park... they are still children :)

I'm also going to participate in the Blogging From A to Z challenge in April.  I already blog everyday (mostly) so the challenging part will be working the alphabet into my normal content... which of coarse completely depends on where the day takes us.

I'm excited about these two additions to my blog world.
