Funny Hubby & Smart Dog
(both handsome)

I am so lucky to be married to someone who genuinely makes me laugh!
I loved his comment on his sister's post.

Jewelry (A to Z)

Nope, didn't get any jewelry and didn't make any jello as proposed in my A to Z promo video... we're doing the hand JIVE instead!

Over Easter the girlies where playing hand-clapping routines.  My sister Sarah and I were laughing out-of-control as we tried to remember the ones from our childhood.  The kind of laughter that sets your soul free and makes everything better. (But our laughter is kinda loud... so we were stopped before we could completely remember the moves.)

The next day Caitlin taught me "double, double, this, that" and I have been bugging her ever since to see how many rounds we can do without stopping.

Tonight Honey and Caitlin hand jived in the back yard.

Yes, I know hand jive is a specific routine... but we're going to give me a break :)

Drum roll....

You've probably seen this, it's one of those viral videos, but I love it! My favorite hand jive ever... Cleary & Harding!

Dog, Dork, Disgusting, Derrick (A to Z)

This is my handsome boy. Everyone should have such a loving companion.

I'm feeling a little sappy today... Writing this at lunch on a day full of anxiety and paranoia, just thinking about cuddling my Spartacus makes me want to run home where he'll be so happy to see me.

I love hubby and my girlies more than I can express. But Spartacus is my one and only handsome boy.

He is also brills and has a blog of his own, I Am Spartacus. I don't write this blog but I wish I was that fun and clever. His ghost writer makes me happy, sharing Spartacus' personality with posts. Check it out, I hope you like it as much as I do.

Sooo... That was the dog and here is the dork.

reenactment of actual event

Yes, this was me this morning. My plan had been to send a photo to the dentist since I couldn't leave work... Apparently my mouth is not as big as people think... Yes, it's big enough to fit an iPhone with an Otter Box case on it but not big enough to give enough room to focus.

Which leads us to the grooosssss...

See? All out of focus.  This is tooth #18 and the hole that previously held tooth #19 (numbered according to the Web Dental Office). If it were in focus you would see that SOME of that mess in #19 is stitching... it's the other stuff I wanted clarified.

This whole attempt made me giggle and I seriously doubt anyone will every ask to borrow my phone after this post.

And now onto the derrick...

Honey is doing a great job creating her derrick... now that she has a glue gun. Hubby tried to get her to do it with super glue, the man knows nothing about crafts. It's a good thing he's funny :)

Trouble in Paradise

Hubby emailed this picture this morning...

Made my day.

Totally N.I.A.

Hubby made breakfast in bed for me.  Wait... He didn't make it in bed. He made it in the kitchen and then brought it to me. I was in bed. So I ate breakfast in bed.

Whatever, it was a nice treat after a rough Friday. Lovely way to start our Saturday.

Next was guitar lessons.  This was a major review morning because we have missed too many lessons.  Cracking the whip!... A little bit at a time.  Caitlin was a little teary because her fingers are sensitive again.   My fault for not keeping everyone in practice mode. But I'm back.

Hubby tried to make Caitlin feel better by playing her mini guitar... it drove everyone away but me, and I wish I had turned on some lights!

Guitar Hero Dork!

Next up on the Saturday agenda was a meeting of the N.I.A!  Siobain and I were invited to join this week.  So exciting. Meetings are held in Caitlin's room on Saturdays.  The door opens magically (with the help of hubby) when Caitlin performs the secret knock with her pink umbrella. (Which looks very much like the Diagon Alley knock that Hagrid performs in the first HP movie.)

Once inside the clubhouse we learned what N.I.A. stands for, it's a secret. Caitlin called the meeting to order, she's the president.

I was in stealth camera mode, so this is the best one of the president that I could get.

There was some club business to take care of next, like the election of the VP.

I guess hubby is the parliamentarian because he advised Caitlin on motions and voting.

Spartacus was voted in as V.P.

We all have secret nicknames.
(Mine is the nickname that I've been trying to get people to call me for-e-ver!)

***

Hubby took the girlies out for the afternoon. I couldn't leave the house. I guess if it were on-fire I would have managed... two steps forward, one step back.  Otherwise I am really proud of myself.  I didn't get out of the house but I did get some stuff accomplished IN the house.  So that's something.  And I didn't wallow or sleep at all.

Well, I might have wallowed a little while I was watching the Hollywood version of Girl With The Dragon Tattoo... I preferred the 2009 Denmark version. But that's just me.

Spartacus waited for his girlies to come home... and waited... and waited.  Poor guy.  Finally they were home... and pooped.  Caitlin drew a picture of hubby, I took a picture... and played.  Spittin' image!

While I was Sleeping...

"You must be dying because you haven't posted since Monday." I've been tired. I made it through Monday and Tuesday but worked half day on Wednesday... Sleeeeeeep.

Then, I (TMI) had a nice vomit incident on Thursday afternoon.  Aside from the drama of (1) vomiting; (2) vomiting at work; (3) standing 'nekked' in the third floor ladies room wandering if I could just lay down on the cold tile... there was also the frustration of ALMOST working a full day.  Arg.  So close.

I'm so glad I took a vacation day today. Rest, relax... no embarrassing vomit situations. (Although Caitlin did give me that "you are so gross" look this morning... but that's just bonus baby!)

Time is ticking while Kathleen is sleeping. (I really wish I could have rhymed something with "ticking.") Anyway, it's spring break and the girlies and hubby have not been wasting a moment! Well, hubby has taken some moments to cuddle me and make me feel better... but that's in between the fun stuff!

Tuesday

Mostly fun stuff... I was a crabby pants when I got home on Tuesday.  I threw a hissy fit because Honey had a graphic of a gun on her shirt.  "Pick your battles," I know, but in my weakened condition and having a gun "pointed" at me really... set me off.  Electronic freebie night to make up for that...

Caitlin's masterpieces using Hubba Hubba:

Caitlin, Hubby, Kitty, Hubba Hubba

Siobain, Spartacus, Me

Siobain worked on this animation on her NintendoDS.  It's not done yet, but it's awesome... even though I don't like the music...

Wednesday

Goin' to the Drive In!  Hubby and the girlies checked out a new (to us) drive in on the other side of town.  They reported back that it is better than the one we usually go to.  Siobain was awesome and made sure there were photos taken.  I think she did a really great job.

Apparently there is a mini golf course there too... with a Sponge Bob... I do love photos with statues. No really, I do.  Hubby makes fun of me.

My favorite photo is of the girlies playing with the speakers.

Thursday

Grrr... Hubby played at open mic. No one took pictures.  There will be punishment especially since everyone was laughing about what a great time they had.  Cruel.

Friday

And that brings us up to today.  Caitlin made this wheel, it says "horn" in the center, and made Hubby be the car.  No major crashes but I think the blue book value for the hubbymobile suffered today.

Honk if you're adorable!

They just got back from the museum...

They only took a couple of photos... but they brought me ice cream, so we're good.

I'm Sexy and I Know It...

Siobain went to her first 7th grad dance tonight, she went casually dressed.  Some people dressed up... kinda a free-for-all. She met a bunch of her girlfriends and had a good time...

"The craziest part was when 'I'm Sexy and I Know it' came on and EVERYONE stood up to dance!" What? What is this song? She started singing it. Then says, "It's a little inappropriate, I know."

I just youtube-ed this song, by LMFAO... and I like it.  But I don't know if I want her to like it. "I got passion in my  pants and I'm not afraid to show it..." I assume that means what I think it means?

Does this face look old enough to hear this shiz?

No, she does not look old enough.

Hubby is going out with a friend tonight and is finally wearing the Les Mis shirt I bought him.  Isn't he handsome?

'Course, he actually posed this way.  I waited until he lowered his eyebrow.
such. a. goofball.
Caitlin walked in as I was taking the photo and said "why are you wearing a girl's shirt?"
It's not a girls shirt!

Speaking of goofball... apparently hubby had some time on his hands this afternoon.  Poor Spartacus, such a good sport.  Hubby put this pink supergirl cape on him and took several photos.

Super Sparty!

Spartacus

The hits kept coming this weekend... hi-larity ensues.

We took Gorgeous back to the open arms of Eleanor and Mia. I learned that on the nurse scale I am below Eleanor (age 6) and above Mia (age 3)... but only because Mia sometimes says "no."  Apparently my clumsiness is a liability.

I think my handsome boy was happy to see me.
He's been cuddling my knee (from yesterday slip 'n slide injury.)

Oh, and it's snowing outside.

I wonder if my handsome boy will write a post about the snow... I am Spartacus.

A Love Story

Hubby took today's picture for me.  He walked into the living room to this scene...

Spartacus and Chocolate (the bear) both look exhausted. A little afternoon delight perhaps? For sure I've seen dogs become frisky with inanimate objects, although my handsome gentleman has never stooped to such levels.  Did Chocolate take advantage of Spartacus... slip a little something in his water bowl and ply him with promises of love and happy endings?

It's like Toy Story... gone wrong.

Buddies - Photo 52: ABCs

It only took four years...

"Buddies"

This week is "B" in the Photo 52: ABCs FB challenge... I am posting this image but I think I'll work on another one for "B" this week.  I just captured this moment because... well, WOW! These two are really starting to put up with each other. I had to crop this one so that you can't see the crapola on my bed side dresser... there was nothing I could do to hide the untidy bed.

I also couldn't get up to try for a better angle because even a slight exhale would have alerted Kitty that the warm tush she was cuddled with was Spartacus.

"Oops, I did it again!" But this curly corner frame on pixlr-o-matic matched the curves of my cuddle buddies so well!

The Third Joyful Mystery

But the angel said, 'Do not be afraid. Look, I bring you news of great joy, a joy to be shared by the whole people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the lord.
Luke 2:10-11

And so today we celebrated the birth of Jesus with gifts and love to each other. It was a beautiful day.  Siobain crawled into my bed at 5:45, with the coldest feet ever, and giggled us awake.  I managed to get her to cuddle for 15 minutes before getting out of bed. It is so fun to watch a gift opened and see the excitement it brings.

We had a camera malfunction...
Siobain is the blur top left and Caitlin is the blur bottom right.

My handsome boy was excited to receive his gifts too.

We attended 9:00 am mass at the convent.  There were only about 20 people and my girlies were the only children.  There was a guest priest and the poor man had a horrible cold.  He was full of joy for the occasion despite his cold and gave my girlies big giggles when he kept sneezing and blowing his nose while singing Joy to the World... it was a little funny.

We were at Gorgeous' house by 10:10 and got to spend a little more time with the cousins. Hubby and the girlies played spoons while I became addicted to Perplexus Epic.

I took a nap in the middle of the day... Santa stayed up late and Mommy got up early :)

We spent the day with Gorgeous and then ate the wonderful meal she prepared.  We are so lucky to have Gorgeous. The girlies and I got home at 9:30 tonight.  Ready to go to sleep with joy in our hearts.

My igloo is your igloo...

Holiday party at the office.
No alcohol served or consumed.
We did this completely sober...
... and in front of other people!

Let me note that the igloo was there as decor... not for a photo op.
But Roger said he'd give me a quarter if I did it...

I DO think Keith might have spiked his eggnog... before doing this...

Tim, Caryl, Peter, Me, Christy

So today's pictures of my children are incorporated into this show!

Drum rollllllllll.....

Doggie in Distress

My handsome boy caused me a bit of anxiety today. His breathing was... distressed. That's the only way I can describe it.  I was concerned that he had inhaled some bad stuff when he did this...

So we went to the "dogtor," as Spartacus would say.

He checked out medically, heart and lungs sound good.  Stomach and bowels too. But we did learn that my handsome boy suffers from weather anxiety. Since I'm such a home body this hasn't been a problem. I guess someone is usually here during thunderstorms. With no one to cuddle Spartacus went a little nutso...

But now we have some meds to help him through really bad storms. And we're looking into D.A.P for milder storms... Dog Appeasing Pheromone. We might also be checking out a thunderstorm CD to do some calming exercises.  I wonder if Vera treats dogs? Spartacus and I could go together.

My boy is resting from all the excitement.
We are all so happy there wasn't any internal damage done.

Snow Ball

Spartacus was very excited to show me something tonight...

The girlies gave him a new squeaky ball for the "winter"...

He'll be sleeping with it for days!

Cherish the one you love...

A friend of mine lost her dog this week.  You can see the pain in her face.  The pain of never again cuddling with her fur ball of love.  Made me think of my handsome boy. The one who loves me unconditionally.  Who I love unconditionally.

It is different than my love for my girlies. Different from my love for my hubby. Different from the love for my mother and sisters.

But still a love that fills my heart completely.  I pray he can stay with me forever... or at least much longer than a dog lover can expect.

My heart goes out to Bev.

I love these canine teeth...
so delicate as he runs around with our shoes, not damaging them at all.

And the one eyed spy to mommy who is bothering him with so many click, click, clicks.

7 Faces of Spartacus

Spartacus is part of the family.
He gives me the same looks that the girlies do...

"hidden" eye roll

cupcakes?

daddy is so funny

you bore me

O.M.G.

pretending to listen to me

you just don't get it

The girlies give me many more nuances... but they add body language to make it even MORE fun!

Catfucious Says...

When you are stuck in bed with your ass in the air
you should use your time wisely and pet your cat.

Seriously. Hemorrhoids blow. I've never had one before...
... but I will buy a donut pillow for work if this doesn't get better.

Pet me, I will make you forget your ass.

Kitty kept smacking my camera with her face.
She really thinks petting is the cure here...

Spartacus would like it known that he has also been by my side all day long...
... but in a more supportive and less demanding way.

1, 2, Freddies gonna get you

Hubby and the girlies l-o-v-e halloween.  They went shopping for yard decor... barf.  Apparently Party City has a VERY frightening talking Freddie Kruger. I know this because as soon as Caitlin got in my car (we all met for dinner) she started crying about how scared she was to go to sleep.

So... now my yard is trashed AND I get kung-fu-sleep-kicker in my bed tonight.

Siobain had just recovered from a head-first fall into the street...
no blood, so it was funny!

Siobain and Spartacus were pooped after "decorating."

I love my dog.
He makes me happy.

He's so handsome.
He loves me too.

Scooby-Doo Where Are You?

Zoinks!

...ruh-roh...

Whenever someone gets home Spartacus grabs the closest object in pure, wiggling excitement.  He follows you around with it until you give him some love.  Then he puts it down.  He never does any damage.  A shoe. A stuffed animal. A book.  He just has to hold on to something!

... but he never puts it back where he found it...
