Jello

Caitlin was weepy this morning and wouldn't leave the house... which is problematic because she's 8 and can't be left home alone.  She couldn't articulate what the problem was... she just NEEDED to be at home.

Since I am border-line recluse I completely understood the NEED to stay in the house.... turning my baby girlie into one is not on my To Do list.

Gonna have to figure something out for this shiz. Is crazy contagious? Because I don't want my girlies catching it.

Sooo... in the meantime, I'm having a big ol' cup of jello with lunch today...

My big cup o jello.

Also my cute desk lamp and pad...

In fact, we just rearranged our cubicles and I love mine!
Hope to stay in here for a long long long time.

My humpyt-dumpty, prop-rock, and Ebbers!

So glad they let me keep a half wall so that I don't feel claustrophobic.
Plus I have a distant window.
My crafty clock.
My green desktop to match my green lamps.

My green mirror... I have my back to the door now... and startle easily.
Keith agreed to model for me :)

Hubby just called.  I am in big big big trouble.  I am really sorry.  Forgot to tell him about this morning and we went to the wrong place to get the girlies.  Eeeek.  Sucking as a wife and a mother this today.

Must eat more jello.

Cheesetasticiest!

Girls Just Want To Have Fun

When I was 12 we watched it over and over and over at Aunt Colleen's house. The most fantastic movie ever... okay, seriously, I have to watch it whenever it's on tv.  And netflix just put it on Instant Play.

This is approximately what I looked like when I added it to my queue...

Share my joy of the cheesetasticiest 80's move ever!

4th of July

Dinner and dancing at Dozier's this evening.  I had asked if we could come over because you can see the fireworks from their neighborhood without having to go into the Texas heat, the crowd, the bugs and the traffic.

They made a great evening out of it!  We all relaxed in the air conditioning until it was time to watch fireworks (that's my kind of celebration!)

Before we left home hubby set off some colored smoke bombs or the girlies...

yellow, blue, green, purple and white

After dinner these three girlies ate their ice cream and waited for dark.

15 glow sticks for 99 cents at Michaels... I always have them on hand

our view of the fireworks

Mia and I agree... It's hot, loud, and itchy... we wanna go home.

Everyone had a great time.

Madame Alexander Presents...

Aunt Colleen created a girlies' dream doll spree!

Her oldest grandgirlies decided to hand-down their Madame Alexander collection to the Texas girlies.  And boy are the Texas girlies excited about that!

Everyone took a turn making their selections. We started with Mia (who chose the cowardly lion) and kept going round till they were all gone.  It was fascinating to see how differently all of them chose.

There was a bit of a pre-selection period for all the girlies to have a good look.

The new additions to the Medina play house.

Caitlin wanted a photo with all her new dolls.  I told her to smile big and we all had a good laugh.  She reminds me of ET.

I've taken one for myself.  It's true.  I'll share a photo of Humpty Dumpty when he is place in his new home, my cube.

Photo Bomber

Decided to make a special post for my sista Siobain.  Who is smart and kind and beautiful... and tired of me taking pictures.  She photo bombed 2 dozen photos on Saturday night.

I decided to take a few of her "bomb" faces and make a special blog.

And yes, it really irritates me that even when "bombing" she is so pretty.

She didn't bomb this one, I just thought it was really cute.

In Honor Of

Eleanor's Final Performance & Aunt Colleen's Visit

We all got together for Eleanor's last performance of The Sound of Music and then dinner, Eleanor's choice.  She wanted Macaroni Grill, which was a bit of a shocker... but my girlies LOVE MacGrill so they were happy campers.

Aunt Colleen has been in the Texas heat all week but this was our first chance to see her.  Dinner was lovely and fun... my photographs aren't so good.  Apparently sangria does NOT help with my photography skills.  There was only one photo of Aunt Colleen that was in focus...

Two Pretty Ladies

Herding Cats

Kate brought a date.

These two are ALWAYS willing to smile and take a picture.

Love Birds
(barfed a little in my mouth)

Sooooo.... I have a picture of Peter's hand and the tip of his nose in one of my photos... I feel bad that of all my photos I didn't even have a fuzzy one of him.  Well, he's cute and I'll get him on anther post.

A Bigger Boat

Still having major anxiety.  Can't breath right now.  But trying to keep this blog going.

We saw Jaws in the theater tonight.  It was perfect except for two things, I'll get to those later, first the perfect parts.

This is one of my favorite movies ever. It is just kinda all around brills.  I've seen it at least 25 times, and that count is conservative.  I love the characters and the dialog and the feel of the movie.  But tonight... I realized there were nuances I have missed.  I've never heard the dialog in a crowded theater, where I wasn't laughing to myself but with everyone out loud.  The shock of the shark... suddenly so unexpected when watching the movie with people who have never seen it before. The fantastic characterizations of the extras.  Really fantastic.

And both my girlies seeing it for the first time.  Loved when they laughed.  Loved that Siobain closed her eyes the first time I warned her a scary part was coming and she yelled "what happened" when the whole crowed reacted to the fisherman's head bobbing out of the boat... Loved that Caitlin said she was fine through the whole movie and then...

Thing One:  I couldn't relax in the theater.  It was a completely full house.  Too many people, even in the dark.  I loved the shared viewing experience but hated it at the same time. Note to talk to my therapist.

Thing Two: ... and then... Caitlin burst into tears as soon as we were in the car.  "I'm going to have nightmares forever!"

We calmed her down.  Bribed her. Begged for forgiveness.  Went to the movie store so she could "fall asleep to something that would replace the shark"...

She was feeling much better by the time we got home.  My little chompers...
